Rated as one of 2010's most Sexy and Successful by Anokhi Magazine, Melanie Kannokada is an engineering geek turned actress, model, television host, and Miss India America. She can be seen on Sony's international TV series "In the Qube" as well as starring in two upcoming feature films "Bicycle Bride" and most recently "Love, Lies and Seeta." She's also appeared on "How to Make it in America," "The Daily Show," "Pulse the Desi Beat," and "Destination Bollywood."
Despite a lucrative modeling career that's included campaigns for Verizon, Glamour Magazine, P&G, and Herbal Essences and runway shows for Indian designers such as Manish Malhotra and Malani Ramani, Melanie considers herself to be a geek at heart. This Mechanical Engineering grad from Stanford University uses her free time to peruse tech blogs and fiddle with the latest mobile apps. If beauty and intelligence weren't enough, Melanie can also put up a good fight, literally, thanks to her 12 years of training and 2nd degree black belt in Shotokan Karate.
