Rash Behari Ghosh and Sachin Sanyal threw a bomb at Viceroy Lord Hardinge II in Delhi. He had come to Delhi on an elephant for the initiation of the new capital. The Viceroy was injured in the bomb blast.

9/24/1938Piloo Dara Reporter, cricket test umpire for 10 tests from 1984-87, was born in Mumbai. He was the first ever test umpire to be invited in a foreign country along with V. K. Ramaswamy also of India.
9/24/1932Poona Pact' was signed between Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. This historical agreement allowed increased representation for untouchables. Also, Gandhi ended his fast.
