7/22/1970Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya (HPKV), College of Agriculture, Palampur was transferred to Himachal Pradesh University as part of its Agricultural Complex.
1/14/1761The third and last battle of Panipat, fought between the Marathas and the Afghan invader Ahmad Shah Abadli, started. The Marathas lost 28,000 soldiers and were virtually routed in North India thus ending the Maratha hegemony.

9/29/1981Delhi-Srinagar Indian Airlines Boeing 737 flight was diverted to Lahore, Pakistan by five Khalistan activists of the Dal Khalsa International. On board there were 117 passengers out of which 66 were freed on arrival in Lahore.
