Historical Event on 10/1/1932
Indian Milatary Academy became functional with Brigadier LP Collins, DSO, OBE as the Commandant. The first course of 40 GCs had on its rolls Sam Manekshaw, Smith Dun and Mohd Musa, later to be Chiefs of the armies of their respective countries, i.e. India, Burma (now Myanmar) and Pakistan. This training was for a period of two and a half years.

1/18/1948	Gandhi breaks 121-hour fast in New Delhi, after halting of Muslim-Hindu riots in Calcutta. He breaks the fast on security pledges from communal leaders who ""Peace Pledge"" to Gandhiji.
12/21/1990	Former Union Finance Secretary S. Venkatramanan appointed Governor of RBI. B. Rachaiah and Dr. Sarup Singh sworn in as Governors of Kerala and Gujarat respectively.
4/6/1606	Khusru Prince and his father Jahangir rebelled and fled from Agra.
5/8/1992	Gul Mahomed, cricketer (8 Tests for India & one for Pakistan), passed away.
11/3/1998	The first geo-scientific data centre of the country is inaugurated at the Geological Survey of India.
